Tournament

In Arena, besides gladiators, you can fight real players.

Real players are people who play Witchcraft. There are 3 types of real players:

To fight against real players click the “Tournament” button in the top right corner of the Arena page. You will see the list of players in the tournament. Players in this list are sorted according to their rating.

Tournament Rating

Tournament Rating is an important score. It determines a player's position in the Tournament.

How does Tournament Rating work?

When you attack another player, the game calculates how many rating points each player will lose or get depending on their respective ratings.

The amount of points you get for a win or lose in the case of defeat depends on the difference of your and your opponent's rating. If your opponent has a much higher rating than you and you win, you will get a lot of rating points and they will lose a lot of rating points. If you lose, they don't get many rating points and you don't lose many rating points. If you have a much higher rating, the situation is reversed.

When you join the Tournament, you get a hidden equivalent of 500 rating points. After you play your placement matches your rating becomes visible. Only matches you initiate count as placement matches.

What if someone else and I have the same rating?

If two players have the same rating, the game compares the result of the last match for both players. The player with the better result is placed higher.

Whom can I challenge in the Tournament?

You can challenge anyone you see in the Tournament list but there is a cooldown which prevents you challenging the same player right after you fought them.

What is automatic response?

The Tournament features the automatic response system which uses your behaviour in the Tournament matches to help you defend against incoming challenges.

What are the rewards?

The rewards for a Tournament match are:

If you lose the match you initiated, you cam only get the base reward and the friend bonus. If you lose the match through automatic response (meaning that you didn't initiate the match), you don't get any rewards. If you win, you also get a random item as a winner bonus. The higher the rating of your opponent compared to yours, the better the item will be.

The winner bonus can include experience, dice, ingredients, charms, boosts, catalyzers, aura elixirs, keys, gems and even 2 hours of Guld membership!

What is a Tournament Season?

The Tournament is now played in seasons. Each season the players who join the Tournament get a hidden equivalent of 500 rating points. Then they need to play 20 placement matches in order to receive the reward at the end of the season. After playing through the placement matches players' rating becomes visible and they take a position in the Tournament according to their rating.

Players who haven't completed their placement matches are also visible in the Tournament and can attack or be attacked.

At the end of the Season the final ranking will decide what rewards everyone with a visible rating gets. The higher the position, the better the reward.

The default duration of the Season is 3 months but it may be different for different seasons. You can check how much time is left until the end of Season on the Season Info page.

A new Season may start right after the previous one or with a delay.

What is the Tournament Week?

It's an event in which players compete in the Arena Tournament and try to get the highest rank they can. More details here

How can I quit the Tournament?

There is no option to quit the Tournament. At the end of the Tournament Season all players are automatically removed from the Tournament. If you decide that you don't want to play, just ignore the Tournament. At the end of the Season you will be removed automatically.
