There are a lot of skills in the game. Some skills are available to you from the start, some will be unlocked when you reach a certain level. To learn a skill, you need to invest a certain amount of skill points in it (you receive skill points every time you level up). You can increase the effect of the skill by upgrading it several times.
Only you can choose what skills to learn and to what extent. Your character can be a specialist in one field or several. It's up to you!
